Radial Health’s physiatrists use the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques to help patients reach their rehabilitative maximum functional potential. Our providers are often found in standalone outpatient clinics, assisted living communities, and wherever outpatient rehabilitation treatment is needed.

Our providers use advanced nonsurgical techniques including electrodiagnostic testing and musculoskeletal ultrasound to evaluate and diagnose conditions that cause pain, weakness, and numbness. Radial Health providers often collaborate with surgeons and neurosurgeons to provide comprehensive rehabilitative care to post-surgical patients.

What We Do

Spasticity Management:

What is spasticity? A permanent and progressive condition in which muscles stiffen or tighten, preventing normal fluid movement. Involuntary contraction of muscles can occur either at rest or with fast stretch. The muscles remain contracted and resist being stretched, thus, affecting movement, speech and gait.

Spasticity can lead to: falls, decreased ambulation, pain, multiple joint contracture, frozen joints, UTI, Sleep Disturbance, decreased independence, re-hospitalization and more.

Through oral medications, injections, & referral for implanted devices and intrathecal baclofen (ITB) pumps – for the most severe cases – Radial Health can provide localized management of spasticity. This will save both time and money related to scheduling an outpatient clinic visit and transportation.

Radial Health’s spasticity specialists have specific training in the refill of baclofen pumps, performed on-site, decreasing risk of rehospitalization due to need for ITB pump troubleshooting. The baclofen pump refills are for patients with more whole body spasticity or refractory spasticity so they can avoid use of oral agents with more side effects.

Botox Injections

Radial Health Group providers can also use electromyographic localization for botox botulinium toxin injections. The botox injections are for local sites of spasticity, like if you have flexor spasticity in your arm or leg, then you may be a good candidate for botox.
